In case you're wondering how Kobe's younger brother is faring w/ Kobe @ school...

On Kobe's first day of school, we all waved good-bye until the bus rolled out of sight, then we headed inside for some brownies and ice cream. Lincoln walked up to Julia Deuitch and said "I miss Kobe." He was pretty sad.

Today, on Kobe's 3rd day of school, Lincoln and I waved good-bye until the bus rolled out of sight. This time, there were no tears. As soon as the bus was gone, Lincoln whirled himself around and went racing inside, saying "Okay, Mom--let's go play video games."

Now that might not SEEM like a funny thing....until you remember that KOBE is always the one that monopolizes the games. Now Lincoln has caught on that with Kobe out of the picture for a few hours, he's in complete control of the Player 1 controller (which is ALWAYS claimed by Kobe). And he took complete advantage of that this afternoon---shamefully, we played the entire time Kobe was away to school.

As he sat there playing the GameCube, I said "Oh, I see! You're going to play and play and play while Kobe's away so you can get good!"

...to which he exclaimed, "Mom, I'm already good."

(disclaimer: I promise we won't spend 3 hours playing video games every afternoon)

He went and grew up...

Kobe is at school right now! With his "I'm in Kindergarten" button on his backpack. The bus came and picked him up this afternoon.
