After a tearful timeout in his bed, Kobe and I sat down to talk about the challenges he has been facing in handling his disappointment.
Mom: Kobe, I'm having trouble knowing how to help you learn to handle your disappointment. Can you help me come up with a better way to help you?
Kobe: Yep.
Mom: Would it help to get a timeout on your bed every time you throw a fit?
Kobe: No.
Mom: Would it help to get a spank every time you throw a fit when you're disappointed?
Kobe: No (vigorously shakes his head)
Mom: Well, what is your suggestion? What will help you handle your disappointment when I say "No" to you?
Kobe pauses, then his face lights up: You could change your mind!!

Kobe and Lincoln have been doing so well with their letters and sounds. They have started noticing "their" letter on TV, a billboard, or in a book. They have also been writing the first few letters, and of course Kobe mastered the "Z" so he could play a good Zorro for halloween, you know, making the "Z" with his sword.
Well Kobe apparently has been practicing letters on the side as well. He suprised us with this....

Driving to church tonight, Kobe is looking out his window, singing along with The Beatles ("Love Me Do"), when out of the blue he says:
K: Mo's lips are red. She's a girl so her lips can be all KINDS of colors.
W: Huh?
K: But mine, and Linkie's & Dad's lips are NO color because we are boys.
Pause...
K: It just wouldn't work.
(for those of you who don't know, Mo=Grandma Diane)
