Merry (belated) Christmas and Happy New Year from Stephen, Wendy, Kobe and Lincoln. We all had a great Christmas. Kobe's favorite gift this year was the air hockey table I got for Christmas last year and Lincoln's favorite gift was attention.

Today's Breaking News: Kobe strutted his stuff in his new Toy Story underwear. Seriously, he kept running back and forth from the mirror in the bathroom to his bedroom, kicking up his legs and admiring his new underwear. Funny child.
And Lincoln...what did he do today? Oh yeah, that's right! He smiled. All day long he smiled. Funny child.

That Lincoln... I don't know what to do with him. He kills me.
Tonight I am in the basement working and Wendy and Lincoln pay me a visit, well they actually caught me on a break. Wendy came down to change the laundry and asked me to hold Lincoln. Of course, what, laundry takes 3 1/2 minutes to change at most.
----- One Hour Later -----
Lincoln is dancing on my lap, Wendy is now sitting next to me for her 56th 1/2 minute. We have sung 6 songs, Lincoln has played the air guitar, the air harmonica, and Wendy and I both. Where did the hour go? Who sings songs with a 5 month old for an hour?
One thing has not changed over the hour, Lincoln's smile has not deflated even a little. I can't think of a minute that went by without Lincoln's face opening up and swallowing our to do list. If there really are 72 or however many muscles that make you smile, my money is on Lincoln being able to lift a truck with his cheeks.

As an adult having seen Toy Story about 22,000 times, I will never look at used toys the same. So I am writing a formal apology to Stuart, the black and white puppy that has been with Kobe since before his birth. Until last week, Kobe's special friends were Blue (his security blanket) and Stuart, his puppy. But now there's a new dog in town, and she has taken over Kobe's heart.
Her name is Prissy.
She didn't start out as Kobe's toy...I actually bought her for myself when I was out Christmas shopping because she was the softest, pinkest, fluffiest stuffed poodle I ever saw. And since I don't get to buy many girl-y things like that (being the only gal in the family), I decided to buy myself a girl-y poodle.
Prissy had a permanent place on the loveseat in my room...until Kobe moved her across the hall to his own room. Now, instead of Stuart, it's Prissy that he makes sure that he has when he gets out of bed. It's Prissy's paw that he uses to push toys around (he likes to pretend that his toys are playing with other toys...he has a great imagination). It's Prissy that he uses to give Lincoln kisses.
So, I'm sorry Stuart. Rest assured, you will not be forgotten. And perhaps all is not lost--last night Kobe was holding you and Prissy both, and Stephen asked him which puppy was his favorite...and Kobe held you high in the air! Perhaps after Prissy loses her newness, and her soft fluffy hair is covered in week-old sucker drool, Kobe will return to his first true love--you, Stuart. And if not, just remember---Kobe has a little brother!!

Lincoln had his 4 month check up today, just 7 days before his 5 month bday. His vitals are 16lbs. 15oz. 26 inches long. Dang Lincoln, you are going to have to start earning those bottles doing chores around the house.
